Merging in God, I fear to lose myself;
Fear that I won’t be me, what will I ultimately be?
Ask everyone and they say ‘I’ shall not remain
Oh, then I ask, what is it that I will gain?
Embark on the journey to the unknown, will I be known?
If merging means I lose, do I just become a clone?
Saints many I look up to, realise that merged souls they were too;
In complete union they are, expanded identity of God they are.
But still each had a unique trait, personality of their faith;
No one became a clone, but with their self they had flown.
Understood that merging does not mean losing,
It means expanding and then finally commanding.
God is no one bland, he likes his tastes with flavours blend;
Each identity of his has a unique trend, choose whomever you wish to hold the hand.
Given so many choices he has to you, it is all done only for you,
Krishna, Ram, Buddha were one and same, yet each one had a different game.
Lahiri Mahasaya, Yukteshwar Giri, Yogananda were of the same tree, but each one set you in different way free.
Thus goal is same, methods are different; God is one, his personalities are different.
