Apart from seeing death, disease and old age, one question that consistently harassed Siddharth was, “What is the purpose of life?” He would see people fighting with each other and would always wonder what is the purpose of life? Thus he renounced the world to get an answer to that question. At the time of enlightenment, he got his answer – purpose of life is compassion. He came back to the world and taught world about compassion. He formed sangh with purpose that instead of fighting with each other, people stay together and help each other by compassion. Sangh was made at time of dispute. Gradually same disputes occurred in sangh and thus sangh disappeared from India.
