Dus = Ten, Shera = heads.
After the nine days of penance (તપ), on the 10th day of Vijayadashmi, you achieve victory over the 10 obstacles (heads) in your path to enlightenment. The heads are
• Pride (ગર્વ)
• Ego (અહંકાર)
• Anger (ક્રોધ)
• Fame (લાલસા)
• Name (નામ)
• Greed (લોભ)
• Desires (મોહ)
• Lust (કામ)
• Jealousy (ઈર્ષ્યા)
• Cruelty (ક્રૂરતા)

This day is thus celebrated with marigold flowers and worship of Goddess Lakshmi (to give right thought, action, emotion and attitude) and Lord Ganesha to give Riddhi (prosperity) and Siddhi (spiritual power) and remove all obstacles in life (વિઘ્નહર્તા).

- These are topics of various aspects of spirituality as told by Para.
